Hey Mom, Yes YOU, Take the Picture!
Holiday photos are just around the bend.
And that means, it's time to pick out the matching outfits, book the hair appointments, and prepare for the holiday photo rush.
While it's tempting to set a kids only appointment, hear me when I say, don't forget yourself.
Yes, your hair might not be done.
Yes, you still have to lose those last ten pounds.
No, your hair appointment doesn't align with the photo schedule.
None of that matters.
Book the pictures, and GET IN THE PICTURES.
When your kids look back at their childhood, they won't pick apart your uncolored roots.
They won't say, hey, mom sure could lose a few. They'll see you. The joy in your eyes. The smile they remember. The hands that held them close.
I set out to snap a photo of my latest baby, at 10 months.
Sis was NOT HAVING IT.
She wanted to explore, play with my glasses, literally ANYTHING other than sit still.
I'm not dressed. My hair is not done.
I have more baby weight than I'd care to admit.
But, it was time to take my own advice.
And while it's not the best photo I've ever taken.
I look back on these images and smile, because they are a direct reflection of our life at this point in time. Unscheduled, Unprompted, Unconventional, and beautiful.
